This is an essay I did for my English class.  Hope you enjoy!
I believe in sparkles.  I love to use sparkles in mass quantities and end up with them all over myself.

When I was a kid, my mom used to help me with projects and when I would ask if I had too many sparkles, she would gasp, appalled, and say with conviction, “Sweetheart, you can never have too many sparkles, they set you apart from everyone else!”

To me, sparkles are much more than shiny pieces of thin plastic that get glued to projects.  They are beautiful scraps of something that is much bigger than what they seem to be.  They all sparkle and shine in their own way, but in the end, they all are part of a common goal. They all came from the same place.

To me, people are sparkles.

Each one is unique and every single one has their own hopes and dreams.  Their own families.  Their own beliefs.  Their own secrets.  Their own talents.

It is the same idea that parents embed into their children’s brains every day. They shower them with uplifting comments about how special they are and how talented they are in comparison to everyone in their class.  But there is more to the Sparkle Theory than what talents you choose to cultivate.  The main idea of the Sparkle Theory is about where we want to go and who we want to
become.  It is about our lifelong goals.

We are all from the same place.  We are all unique, but we are also the same.  We were all born as a helpless child with innocent eyes. We all start off with nothing but trust.  We all begin with open minds and judgment free hearts.  And when the end draws near, we all want the same thing.  We are once again on an even playing field, not unlike the one we were born into.  We want to make a difference.  We hope that our marks have made a dent on this world. It is our expectation that we have become a vital part of someone else’s life.  We pray that we have changed another person for the better.  That we have passed on our wisdom and experiences.  That we have exceeded our potential.  We want to ensure that we have beautified the Earth with our sparkle.

The earth is a giant bottle of sparkles, and inside that bottle is seven billion pieces of glitter that each have their own special design and each display their true colors.  Once a little girl pours the entire bottle onto her project though, the pieces of glitter stop looking so different and they come together to create something even more beautiful than what they could have done on their own.

Seven billion people can make a huge difference in this world, just like a touch of sparkles can turn a project upside down.   It is our job to add not only our own sparkle to this Earth, but to also work with others to create a new sort of glitter to take our redecorating to the next
level.

I believe in sparkles in mass quantities are always better than one single sparkle standing alone.

I believe that sparkles can change the world.
It's true.
xoxo.
